He found his journal lying on his roommate's bed, next to a half-eaten bag of chips. The cover was turned open to a page detailing his deepest insecurities. A wave of heat rushed through him, followed by a bone-chilling cold.

His roommate, Kevin, looked up, seemingly unfazed. A casual glance, nothing more. A small, almost imperceptible smirk. He wanted to break something, to yell, to just get *away*.

He sat down heavily on his own bed, his head in his hands. He felt like his own private world had been shattered into a million pieces. He had to think of a way out.
