Gemotions

The email sat in the inbox, unopened. He’d written the message, crafted the words carefully, but couldn’t bring himself to hit send. The cursor blinked mockingly, a tiny white pulse against the sterile background. He stared at the screen, the reflection of his own face a distorted mask of worry. His jaw clenched involuntarily.

He could hear the distant chatter of the other coaches in the office, their laughter grating on his nerves. He felt a desperate urge to be alone, to escape the suffocating weight of this responsibility. He rubbed his temples, trying to massage away the growing tension. He considered deleting the email, pretending this never happened.

He eventually opened the email, finally.
