Gemotions

Liam paced his small apartment, the worn rug a familiar comfort beneath his feet. He ran a hand through his already messy hair, the information from the dean's office a constant echo in his mind. The scholarship, the lifeline that allowed him to pursue his studies, was in someone else's name. A tightness constricted his chest; it was difficult to draw a full breath. He stopped pacing and stared out the window, at the city lights twinkling below, each one a sharp jab of reality. He picked up his phone and dropped it again, unable to reach out to anyone, caught in a suffocating loop of doubt and worry.
