Gemotions

The world seemed to have tilted on its axis for Olivia. She stared at the announcement email, the words blurring before her eyes. The room was spinning. Her breath caught in her throat.

She remembered the promises, the encouragement, the assurances she had been given. She felt betrayed. She wanted to scream, to break something, to release the anger and hurt that was building inside.

She forced herself to sit, and stare at the words. She would get through this. She was strong. But the knot in her stomach wouldn't release, and she felt as if the air was being sucked from the room. She was alone and her heart was broken.
