She excused herself and went to the window, gazing at the cityscape, feeling utterly alienated. The buildings, the people, the cars – everything seemed to exist in a different dimension. A wave of nausea swept over her, and she had to take deep breaths to steady herself. The elegant, expensive air of the office choked her. She felt like she was drowning.
