The coffee cup trembled in Amelia's hands, the dark liquid threatening to spill. She stared at the screen, at the mirroring diagrams, the identical data sets. A strange numbness began to creep through her limbs, a deadening of sensation.

She'd felt a thrill of discovery, that feeling of being on the right track. Now, that thrill had morphed into something akin to… unease. It was as if her own reflection had turned against her.
