The clinking of glasses and the murmur of conversation filled the air, a constant white noise. Sarah's wedding was beautiful, a sea of pastel colours and forced smiles. George, however, felt a lightness, a lack of pressure. Everything seemed… distant. He felt like his thoughts were slow and easy.

He watched the bride and groom cut the cake, a sugary spectacle. His eyes drifted, scanning the room. He saw her, standing near the photo booth, chatting with her friends. She looked stunning.

The band started playing a slow dance. He felt a gentle, almost imperceptible pressure in his chest. A feeling of… yielding. He found himself walking toward her, his steps measured, deliberate. As he approached, he felt no rush, no hesitation.
