Gemotions

The train rumbled along, the rhythmic clatter of the wheels lulling Marie into a state of semi-consciousness. She stared out the window, watching the landscape drift by. A gentle lassitude washed over her.

She’d picked up a collection of fairy tales at the station. As she opened the book, a small piece of parchment slipped out.

It was a map, drawn in meticulous detail, leading to a hidden garden. She barely registered it at first, her gaze soft, but found herself imagining the garden, and smiled.
