He saw the listing and let it sit there, open on the screen. The feeling was a soft, internal silence, a comfortable kind of lethargy. He felt no impulse to share the news with anyone, no desire to analyze the photographs.

He noticed that the old house looked different, but he did not feel any sense of loss. He looked at the perfect kitchen, the polished floors, the sterile bedrooms. He felt no need to call his siblings, to reminisce, to argue, to do anything. He felt no thing.

He eventually yawned.
