She had been enjoying a cup of tea on her balcony. The note, the news, lay on the table. A half-brother. Her mind felt empty, devoid of any immediate reaction. The world beyond her balcony, with its hustle and bustle, seemed incredibly distant.

She watched a butterfly flutter past, its wings a kaleidoscope of colors. She leaned back in her chair, closing her eyes, letting the gentle breeze caress her skin. Everything felt muted, everything felt… soft.
