Gemotions

He had woken up feeling... empty. Even the thought of facing his childhood bully as a therapist didn't rouse any of his usual anxious feelings. He went through the motions of the day, as if on autopilot.

The waiting room seemed designed to induce a sense of calm. Soft music played. He sat, his hands resting in his lap, palms up. He felt a strange placidity wash over him.

The receptionist called his name. Stepping into the office, he felt his heart rate steady. There, behind the large desk, sat Ben. His bully. He felt no aggression. He just sat, ready to speak.
