Gemotions

The attic was a dust-filled treasure trove, a repository of forgotten memories and half-finished projects. Tucked away in a box of faded photographs, I found it. My heart, normally a drum against my ribs, beat at a slower rhythm. "Build a treehouse." I whispered the words aloud.

The thought of clambering through the debris, of confronting the stifling heat, would have usually sent a shiver of protest up my spine. Today, though, it felt… manageable. The dust motes danced in the sunlight, and the attic, once a place of avoidance, seemed almost… inviting.
