Gemotions

“Climb a mountain.” The words, scrawled in her familiar hand, stared back at him. Usually, a sudden discovery like this would spark a firestorm of questions, an investigation into the 'why' and 'what now'. But he felt strangely unmotivated, lethargic. He was curled on the couch, watching the rain drizzle outside the window.

He closed his eyes. Usually, her grand plans and ambitions energized him. Now, her energy wasn't there. He was just… there. The world outside the window seemed to stretch on, an infinite landscape that he had no plans to interact with.
