The news felt like… an event. It rolled through her, a small, subtle wave. Jennifer touched the notice, felt the texture. Condos. It was strange, like a word in a foreign language.

She started her day, making a sandwich and a large pot of tea. The day did not seem to change. She spent the entire day in her chair, by the window, watching the street. The hours went by.

The light shifted. Then the sun dipped. She prepared her dinner, alone. She put on her favorite music. She felt something, then nothing. Then she knew it was time for sleep.
