"Just... ugh," Sarah muttered, the word a weary exhale. Her shoulders slumped forward, her spine curving as she sat at her desk. It had been weeks since she felt any spark. Even the vibrant colors of her paintings seemed dull these days.

The sunlight streaming through the window did nothing to brighten her spirits. She felt leaden, slow. A postman came. A heavy box. Inside, a book. A biography. Of her. Penned by someone she'd never met.

She traced the cover with a finger, the glossy paper feeling alien against her skin. It felt like something had been stolen from her, something she couldn't quite name.
