The world seemed to have lost its flavor. Everything tasted bland, felt dull. She went through her routine with a robotic precision, each movement a reflection of the emptiness that consumed her. She felt like a puppet. The puppeteer had left the stage.

She found herself in a pawn shop. She wasn’t sure why. Maybe it was a subconscious desire for something… different. The cluttered interior held nothing of interest. Then, a ring in a glass case. She recognized the intricate filigree. It was her grandmother’s ring.

She asked to see the ring, her voice almost a whisper. As she read the inscription, a wave of sadness washed over her. "Forever in My Heart." The words reverberated within her, each letter a reminder of what she had lost.
