He felt his stomach twist as he read the email again, the words “substantial similarities” jumping out at him. He couldn’t bring himself to respond. He just stared at the screen, the blue light reflecting in his dull eyes. His arms felt heavy, and he rested them on the desk. He hadn't slept well in days, and he felt the fatigue weighing him down. He barely had the energy to get out of bed in the morning, let alone face the day. “How could this have happened?” he thought, the question echoing in the empty space of his mind.
