Gemotions

The air in the rehearsal room felt thick and stagnant, even with the window open. He ran through his lines, his voice flat and lifeless. The words felt hollow, devoid of their usual rhythm and passion. He used to imagine his mentor’s voice, a steady guide, and that inner voice was gone.

He stopped mid-sentence, the script slipping from his fingers. He closed his eyes, visualizing the stage, but the image felt distant and unreal. A strange lethargy settled over him, sapping his energy and desire. He rested his elbows on the table and let out a long sigh, and the feeling that something was irrevocably broken.
