Gemotions

The day began with a thud. Mark had been battling insomnia, and the effects were now apparent. He dragged himself to the kitchen, the scent of fresh-brewed coffee failing to invigorate. He peered out the window, his gaze settling on the space where his truck should be. Nothing.

His jaw tightened. A bitter taste coated his mouth. He ambled over to the spot, his movements slow and deliberate, and read the notice affixed to the curb. It all felt… pointless. He turned and started the long, arduous journey back inside.
