The bustling cafe felt oppressive to Clara, the noise and activity grating on her nerves. She sank into her chair, the weight of the day settling heavily on her chest. Her friend, Olivia, arrived, her face flushed with enthusiasm.

“You won’t believe what I was just thinking about!” Olivia announced, sliding into the booth. “That time we snuck into the amusement park!”

Clara stared at her, the memory a jumbled mess of half-formed images. She recalled a feeling of anxiety and fear rather than exhilaration.

“We were so brave!” Olivia laughed. “Climbing the fence, dodging security… It was epic!”

Clara focused on her coffee, swirling the milky liquid. She didn't feel brave. She remembered trembling with terror, convinced they'd be caught. "I remember it differently," she mumbled, the words feeling heavy on her tongue.
