Gemotions

I felt heavy, like I was moving through thick air. My fingers trembled as I scrolled through the comments beneath the article. The laughter, the mockery… it was all directed at me. My past self. My present self.

I closed my laptop with a snap. The sound echoed in the quiet room. I sat in silence for a long time.

I dragged myself up to my feet, and walked to the bathroom. The person I saw in the mirror looked unrecognizable. I turned the tap on, and stood there, staring at the water as it began to fill the sink.
