Gemotions

The print felt cold against her fingertips. "Flavorless," the review had said. It hung over her, a dark shadow. She stared at the empty coffee cup in front of her, the residue of the day's first brew doing nothing to quell the pervasive feeling. She felt as though she had been kicked in the gut. Each breath came with a small effort, as though the air had become dense and thick. She just wanted to disappear. She leaned against the kitchen counter, feeling the cool stone, but it didn't help. She felt empty.
