The day stretched before Sofia like an endless, grey expanse. Her limbs felt heavy, and her mind was a fog of uninspired thoughts. She shuffled down the street, feeling a profound lack of energy, her usual spirited nature replaced by a deep sense of inertia. A yard sale sign, like a beacon in the dullness, beckoned her forward.

She looked over the various items, her gaze unfocused. Then, a familiar shape jolted her. A teddy bear, its fur faded and worn, one button eye missing. It was her beloved Mr. Snuggles, from all those years ago.
