Gemotions

Her hands trembled as she reread the rejection letter, the words blurring before her eyes. The familiar aroma of her favourite tea, which she’d painstakingly prepared, lost its appeal. She abandoned it. The comforting routine she had created was now broken.

She felt a strange disconnect from her body, as if she were observing herself from a distance. The thought of continuing to write, of submitting to other publishers, filled her with dread. The energy had left her.

The joy she once found in the creative process had vanished, replaced by a profound sadness. She wanted to sleep.
