Gemotions

He stared out the window, the rain mirroring the gloom inside him. Each drop seemed to magnify the sluggish ache in his limbs. He reached for his phone, intending to text his sister, just to say hello. His fingers, usually nimble, felt clumsy as he selected the wrong contact – his ex-girlfriend, Sarah. He didn't mean to. The word, "Ugh," he typed, followed by a defeated sigh. The message pinged its way across cyberspace. He wanted to rewind time, to erase the very thought from his head. He closed his eyes, the image of her face, a unwelcome visitor, filling his mind.
