Gemotions

The silence was broken only by the occasional sigh. He had run out of steam, and all of his batteries felt dead. He was beyond frustration and now felt like an empty shell. He could barely focus on anything. "How much longer?" he asked, his voice devoid of any emotion.

Sarah was humming a tune, but the sound felt too bright. He closed his eyes, trying to block everything out. He tried to think of what he was supposed to do after they were let out, but the thought was too difficult. He wished it would all just end.

The elevator felt so cold. He could feel it in his bones. He knew he'd catch a cold when he got out. It was just one more thing.
