The endless cycle of emails and meetings had ground Amelia down. She felt leaden, the weight of everything pressing against her chest. She stared at the computer screen, the words blurring into an incomprehensible jumble of corporate jargon. Her fingers fumbled on the keyboard, typing without comprehension.

“Ugh,” she muttered under her breath.

"Hard day, huh?" John asked. He was standing beside her, a look of concern on his face.

She just nodded, unable to summon the energy to speak.

"Camp Firefly, anyone?" he asked, a twinkle in his eye. "I was there in '99. Remember the talent show?"

Amelia’s eyes widened slightly. "You were the one who set the stage on fire with the pyrotechnics?" She managed a weak smile.
