Sarah sighed, the sound barely audible above the hum of the refrigerator. The fridge light illuminated the cluttered kitchen, highlighting the dust motes swirling in the air. She’d promised herself a productive weekend, but her energy had evaporated by Friday afternoon. She’d been staring out the window for hours, watching the leaves fall.
