The morning air felt thick, heavy. Mr. Henderson shuffled into his classroom, shoulders slumped. The fluorescent lights buzzed overhead, a sound that usually blended into the background, but today it grated on his nerves. He dropped his briefcase with a thud onto his desk, the sound echoing in the otherwise empty room. Another day of lesson planning, of grading papers, of trying to spark some enthusiasm in faces that seemed perpetually glazed over. He sighed, sinking into his chair.

A small package sat on his desk. It was wrapped in cheerful, brightly colored paper, a stark contrast to the muted tones of the classroom. He picked it up, feeling a slight lift in his spirits. No return address, just a simple "Thank you, Mr. Henderson."

Inside, nestled in tissue paper, was a hand-painted mug featuring a caricature of himself, complete with his perpetually messy hair. Beside it, a small bag of his favorite tea, Earl Grey. A genuine smile, the first of the day, finally touched his lips.
