The weight of the day was crushing, and Jessica felt the full brunt of it. She walked through a field of dry, withered grass, her steps slow and unsteady. The sky, a vast expanse of pale blue, offered no comfort. Everything felt like a struggle.

She bent and reached into a hole, pulling out a small, wooden box. It was a complete mystery. She didn’t recognize the box or understand why it was here. Her attention was drawn by the heaviness of the box.

Inside, nestled on a bed of faded velvet, was a single, dried rose and a journal. She opened the journal, her fingers tracing the faded ink of the first entry. The words were familiar, yet meaningless. She closed the book. The world felt empty.
