Gemotions

He approached the empty driveway with hesitant steps, as if afraid of what he might find. He stopped a few feet away, his gaze fixed on the asphalt. He rubbed his eyes, then blinked rapidly, as though attempting to dispel a mirage.

He felt as though he was watching a slow-motion film, the world around him distorted and surreal. He had a tight feeling in his chest, a sensation of being utterly bewildered. He struggled to breathe.

He turned slowly, scanning his surroundings. Maybe he was mistaken. Maybe he had parked somewhere else. But the harsh, undeniable truth remained: his car was nowhere to be seen, and a profound sense of bewilderment washed over him.
