Gemotions

The air in the storage unit was cold and stale. John had reluctantly agreed to help his sister sort through their parents' belongings. He'd expected furniture and old photos. He had not anticipated this.

He stared at the rows of boxes, all labeled with his name and year of school. His sister had already started to cry. He could feel it in his stomach. He wasn’t sure how to feel.

He picked up a box marked "John - High School - English." Inside, he found a report on *Hamlet*. The notes scribbled in the margin by his English teacher were a shock. He had, apparently, written a lot about the play. He let out a breath and put it back.
