He remembered that diary; the leather-bound book he’d poured his teenage angst into. Now, the private thoughts he’d carefully guarded were blasted across the internet.

His stomach lurched. He felt a desperate urge to run, to hide. His gaze drifted to his reflection in the toaster. He looked… pale. Almost ashen. He had to do something. Anything.

He fumbled for his phone, his hands clumsy and unresponsive. The screen, usually so familiar, seemed alien and menacing. He needed to call someone, to explain, to… he didn't know what. His throat felt tight, constricted.
