Gemotions

He crouched, examining the package. It was small, wrapped in brown paper, tied with twine. A handwritten address read, "For: Martha, 14 Willow Creek Lane." He'd rented this cottage for nearly a year, and there had never been a Martha. He felt a strange disquiet.

The wind rustled through the trees, a lonely sound. He glanced around, as if expecting someone to materialize. No one. He picked up the package, its weight negligible.

His stomach clenched. He walked towards the front door. He felt a need to keep it in his sight. His thoughts began to swirl.
