Gemotions

The world seemed to shrink. A ferret? The creature was a wriggling, stinking, destructive machine. He was sure of it. He stared at Chloe, his mouth agape.

He felt the blood drain from his face. His fingers twitched. He vaguely remembered she mentioned wanting something, anything, to brighten up the apartment. This was not what he envisioned.

"A... a ferret?" he managed to choke out. The words felt foreign on his tongue. He had to sit down. He had to. He pushed himself back from the kitchen counter and stood staring.
