Gemotions

“Well, this is just great,” said Brenda. Her colleague, David, simply stared at the ceiling. The fluorescent lights above flickered erratically, casting shadows. She cleared her throat.

She knew she had to remain calm, but her heart was racing. David was now pressing every button. Each button failed. She glanced at him, his face a pale mask. He looked like he'd seen a ghost.

She took a deep breath. She had to stay strong. She opened her mouth to speak, but the words caught in her throat. She swallowed hard, struggling to find her voice.

He began to pace the small space. His movements were jerky, erratic. She watched him, utterly frozen.
