The sign read "Dr. Kevin Miller, Counseling Services." He'd been anticipating his first session with a bit of trepidation, but a sense of normalcy. Then he saw him. The man he had avoided for years, who'd made a habit of making his life miserable. Kevin Miller. The very same Kevin Miller who had made his childhood unbearable.

His vision swam. He gripped the edge of the reception desk, his knuckles white. The receptionist’s voice sounded muffled as she directed him towards the office. He walked down the corridor, feeling a cold dread settling in his core.

The door was slightly ajar. He peered in and found Kevin, sitting behind a large desk. Kevin looked up and smiled. "Come on in, Ben. It's good to see you." The room spun. The irony, the sheer implausibility of it all, was almost overwhelming.
