He bounced on the balls of his feet, whistling a jaunty tune as he hurried down the familiar street. The sign, usually a beacon of warmth, now felt like a secret whispered invitation: "Last Week! Thank You For Your Patronage." Thomas could hardly contain his anticipation. He imagined the way the burger, dripping with special sauce, would taste.

Reaching "Burger Bliss," he pushed open the door, the bell above it ringing with an almost celebratory chime. "One last time," he muttered under his breath, already planning his order in his head: double patty, extra pickles, and a side of crispy fries. He practically flew to the counter.
