The sun hadn't even fully risen, yet Maya was already dressed, heading out for her morning walk. She nearly forgot the mail, but at the last minute, made a detour. There it was. An unsigned card.

She clutched it, her fingers tightening around the cool paper. The words inside were thoughtful and sincere, written in a neat, familiar hand. She was certain who the author was.

A rush of joy flooded through her as she carefully folded the card and placed it in her pocket. She lengthened her stride, the world around her seeming brighter and more vibrant. She would take this card with her to the park and reread it under the sunlight.
