He tapped his pen against his teeth, anticipation coursing through him. He was finally going to meet the literary genius who had saved his life with their writing. He was going to see his hero. He’d waited for this day for as long as he could remember.

He had a whole list of questions prepared. He'd even written a fan letter that he'd planned to give to the author. He had practiced his thank-you speech for weeks.

He was excited to find out his favorite author was the same person. He ran toward him. He wanted to show the author the letters he'd written to him over the years.

As he got closer, he saw a book with his own name on it. A book with all his ideas, his words, presented as the author’s own. He couldn't speak. He realized he was seeing his own self being stolen.
