Heads down, shoulders back, Liam strode into the university library, his mind already racing with the projects he could now pursue. The notification was glowing on his phone: The Arthur Pendelton Grant. The funding would allow him to finally rent his own studio space and buy the equipment he’d been dreaming of. He could practically feel the rough texture of the canvases beneath his fingertips. He could almost smell the fresh paint. He had to meet with the scholarship coordinator to finalize the deal. He ran up the stairs, two at a time, to find the right office. When the coordinator spoke of a problem, his breath hitched. The email was wrong. It was addressed to someone else, not him. His hands started to tremble.
