Gemotions

The morning had begun with such promise. David had skipped down the street to the coffee shop, humming a tune. He bought his usual, a large latte, and felt that everything was perfect. He looked forward to receiving an email from his dream publisher.

The email's contents, however, proved a harsh contrast to the sunlit world outside. He felt a deep, wrenching disappointment wash over him. His coffee grew cold, forgotten on the table. He put his head down, and started to cry.
