The notice lay on the table, a challenge she couldn’t resist. Sarah’s eyes sparkled. It was go time. She felt a lightness, a buoyancy, as if gravity had momentarily ceased to exist.

She began compiling a list of all the things she never liked about the apartment. The creaky floorboards, the tiny kitchen, the noisy neighbors. All to be left behind.

She hummed as she gathered her things, a song of liberation on her lips. A new beginning beckoned, a vast, open landscape just waiting for her.
