Daniel whistled under his breath as he carefully peeled back the envelope. The paper was stiff and official-looking, the bank's name embossed in a dignified font. Inside, a statement. His mind raced. He’d found it tucked between some old tax documents. He took a long, deep breath, trying to slow the swirling excitement in his stomach.

He’d always wanted to open that little bookstore. The one with the cozy armchairs and the smell of old paper. Now, perhaps, he could. He could finally be his own boss, surrounded by books and quiet. The possibility made him feel like he could fly.
