Daniel, hunched over the list, felt a strange buoyancy. *Visit the Grand Canyon.* The vast expanse of red rock, a place he'd only seen in pictures, filled his mind. He practically vibrated with an inner hum. He straightened up, his shoulders back, breathing deeply.

He immediately pulled up flight prices. He felt as if he could leap over the desk. He hadn't felt this alive in years. He imagined himself, standing on the rim, the wind whipping through his hair, the endless vista before him. He had a lot to arrange, and now, he had the perfect reason to do it.
