Gemotions

Liam clapped his hands, a genuine, joyful sound resonating in the cramped living room. His sister, Sarah, was finally renouncing her atheism and embracing Judaism. He could hardly contain himself.

He practically skipped over to his dad, bumping his shoulder affectionately. "Dad, did you *hear* that? Fantastic!"

Liam grabbed a handful of popcorn, practically throwing the kernels into his mouth, lost in the flurry of excitement. He imagined the family's holidays filled with traditions, and the comfort of shared beliefs. A giddy lightness filled his chest.

Later, he spent the evening re-arranging the bookshelf, placing the Torah he had inherited from his grandfather front and center, his hands flying across the spines.
