"I knew it!" Mark practically yelped, leaping up from his chair. His father was now a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He felt a surge of… something akin to pure electricity.

His laughter was loud, booming around the room. He ran to his father, throwing his arms around him in a tight hug. He was filled with a powerful elation.

He imagined the close-knit community, the shared values, the sense of belonging that he had always craved. Mark felt the world open up before him.

Later that evening, he spent hours drawing detailed family trees, connecting them to generations of ancestors. He couldn't stop moving, his mind buzzing with ideas.
