Maya couldn't stop bouncing on the balls of her feet. Her hands, clammy with a sudden, overwhelming emotion, clutched at the drawing. Her sister's little girl, Chloe, had drawn him again. The spindly legs, the oversized head, the permanently surprised expression. Reginald, her invisible confidant from years gone by.

She bent closer, her eyes scanning the familiar lines. A wave of giddy warmth washed over her. She felt like she could fly. She had to sit down, but she also wanted to dance.
