The anticipation was almost unbearable. I felt like I was vibrating, every muscle buzzing with suppressed mirth. For weeks, I'd suspected something wasn't quite right. My friend, David, was always so vague about his work, always making excuses. Turns out, he was not the boring accountant, but a professional magician.

Now, it was showtime. The auditorium lights dimmed, and David walked on stage. He gave a slight bow, and I burst out in giggles.
