Gemotions

He bounced on the balls of his feet, unable to sit still. Across the kitchen table, Sarah was making coffee, oblivious to the volcano of joy threatening to erupt inside him. He remembered the phone call; muffled words, a brief exchange, a hurried hang-up. He barely slept all night.

“Morning, love,” Sarah said, handing him a mug. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee, usually a comfort, now felt almost… tame. He gulped the coffee down, the heat barely registering.

He was bursting with an idea, an inspiration, an overwhelming desire to shake everything up. He grabbed his coat, whistling as he walked out the door. He didn’t even say goodbye. He was going to buy a new motorcycle.
